Welcome to Shadey Hill Farm the home of "ss eventing" and Sarah Kleintop!
Shadey Hill Farm is home to the former Sarah Shade , now Sarah Kleintop and Jesse Kleintop, farrier ( www.kleintopforge.com). SHF is located in Georgetown, Kentucky just 15 minutes from the Kentucky Horse Park, off of Newtown Pike, and is
a 20 acre farm with a 9 stall barn, a fully functioning tack room, hot and cold water wash rack, 8 paddocks,
a cross country course with jumps from starter through preliminary, including water, and a 75 X 200 foot indoor arena. SHF
offers training, lessons, and boarding.
Our Philosophy:
Riding is about constantly being educated and learning
as much as possible from the horses you ride as well as wonderful instructors. Pony club, being a working student, college,
and personal experiences have helped me to learn and grow continually. Horses keep you extremely humble as well as push you
to reach toward your goals every day. Jon Holling told me something one day that I will never forget. He told me that in order
to become successful in this business I had make sure that I enjoy riding the beginner novice through preliminary horses as
much as I enjoy riding the upper level horses. This has proved more than true when I had to retire Musntuchit. Currently I
am working with three year olds up through training level horses. Luckily I enjoy working with them as much as competing at
the upper levels. I am grateful to have young and inexperienced horses that truly love to learn. With young horses, it can
be a new adventure every day. Their successes (whether its trotting on a loose rein in a field or winning a novice) become
my successes. I am constantly learning more about myself as well as my horses.
I am hoping to be able to build a string of nice
young horses that will eventually turn into upper level horses. Starting them from the beginning gives you a special bond
with a horse. This helps to form a trust between you and that horse. It is my opinion that the amount of heart a horse has
is actually more important than the amount of talent that they have. If you are fortunate to ride a horse that trusts you
and will give you their heart and try with all of their worth, in the end, you
will most likely go further than having a horse with a lot of talent, but doesn’t care very much about you. The horses
that fill my farm are all sweet, talented, and willing. With patience and time, I hope that the green horses will turn into
wonderful athletes. Some will become upper level horses, and some will become great kind partners for amateurs. With the support of wonderful family, owners, and friends, Shadey Hill Farm strives to give each horse the
opportunity to excel to their fullest potential.
